On August 5, 2017, the Shenzhen Poster Design Association's founding meeting and the first member (representative) meeting were solemnly held at Guanshan Moon Art Museum in Shenzhen. The General Assembly considered and voted to adopt the Statute of Shenzhen Poster Design Association, and elected the first director, president, vice-president, Secretary-General and supervisor of Shenzhen Poster Design Association. Chen Pingbo, Executive Chairman of Shenzhen International Poster Festival, was elected President of the First Association. Xia Yibo, founder of Xia Yibo Design, was elected Vice-President of the First Association and co-organized the First Shenzhen International Poster Festival.

As a professional and academic social group, Shenzhen Poster Design Association will promote and disseminate Shenzhen's design spirit and play an active role in creative design, competition and exhibition, resource sharing, industry mutual assistance, domestic and foreign exchanges and cooperation. The main content of the first Shenzhen International Poster Festival is "World Excellent Designers Poster Exhibition", which exhibits nearly 400 works of world famous designers and cutting-edge designers. Designers from 41 countries and regions participated in the festival. Masters from poster design circles sent their works and gave great support to the event.

The establishment of the Association will further promote and disseminate Shenzhen's design spirit, help to improve the professional level of poster design in Shenzhen, and promote the development of the overall culture of society. It will also play an important role in the promotion of design education, the training of design talents, the international exchange and cooperation of posters, and the encouragement of professional designers to participate in public welfare design.
